It's Christmas Cupcakes!

I love Christmas cupcakes. I think for Christmas it is important for you and your family to make what ever
passed down traditional cupcake recipe is your favorite. My family loves red velvet cupcakes. I think the red is dreamy with the sparkles and really who doesn't love sparkles?

Get out all of your ingredients cupcakes.

And sugar is and butter...does it get any better then that?

Still working on a acquiring a mixer but my little trust hand
mixer gets the job done just fine!

Got to make it really red to hang with Southern Red Velvet Cupcakes!

I got the cute cupcake liners at Bakeitpretty. I love that site!

Perfect dark red now we just got to let them cool...

Hurry up and cool already!

Whipped up some homemade cream cheese frosting and now for the fun
stuff! Disco Dust!

Still working on my piping techniques but don't you just love
cupcakes?

These cute little snowmen I found at Costco last year and the
awesome plaid tray (is addicted to all things plaid) I found at
Target this year on sale for FIVE dollars.
If you are looking for a great recipe for cupcakes I used Martha's Cupcakes Book for this one. I love you Martha!

Working Woman Heroine Cake Pops.

One of my really good friends and co-workers asked me to make him some cake pops for his new bride and some of her friends after she tried one of my cake pops and really like it. I was more then happy to do this and make them extra special because seeing how happy he is after all these years makes me happy. His path to a good woman has been long and much harder then a good man like him deserved but now he has found a sweet, honest and loving woman who just happens to be beautiful to boot. I have not been blessed with the chance to get to know her really well yet but I know she is a hard working woman helping my friend raise his two cute-as-a-button little girls. She wears a uniform like me everyday to work (not exactly like mine but not satin and lace either) and that is what inspired me when I sat down to start creating a special batch of Working Woman Heroine Cake Pops.

First I painted my chocolate bows and buttons using candy molds I purchased at CandyMoldCentral.

I melted the candy melts and removed my cake pops I made the night
before using Bakerella's basic cake pop recipe like always. I made milk-chocolate cake
with a dash of vanilla flavoring in the cream cheese frosting mix.

I used the basic cake pop construction found in Cake Pops by Bakerella and
some recipe flavoring tips found in Martha Stewarts175 Cupcakes. If you
don't have these books I suggest you go get them. They are such a treasure
of ideas and inspirations.
I rolled all the cake pops in honey Graham crumbs after dipping them in
white chocolate.

Working Woman Cake Pop
They might make us wear man clothes to work but
on the inside it is all satin and lace!
They can't hide our cupcake smiles!

After Hours Cake Pop
Our Working Woman has put in a hard days
work and now it is time to doll it up and
step out on the town in style.

Bare Essentials Cake Pop
Now it is time for our working woman to scrub her face,
brush her teeth and rest her weary head to get
ready for another long day.

I used my daughters construction paper for the background and some
awesome scrap booking glitter paper I found at Michael's. I hope you like them.

Sister's are doing it for themselves...

I am a new blogfrog memeber and just joined the Hump Day Blog Hop.

My Heroes have always been Police Officers...

Hero is a big word. Being a Hero requires sacrifice. Requires selfishness. Requires courage. Not bravado but real courage. The kind of courage where every cell in your body says danger is around the corner and you walk around the corner anyways; because that is who you are. A Hero.

I was blessed to grow up with two of these heroes. My Dad, Michael Meek, who sacrificed time with his family and time for himself in the service of others and my Uncle, Richard W. Smith Jr., who sacrificed time with his family, time for himself and eventually his life in the service of others. Tomorrow is Uncle Ricky's birthday and he should celebrating with his family but his path altered when a mentally disturbed man broke from reality and my Uncle, along with his partner, took up the call to help him.

These HeroCakePops are dedicated to every man and woman who wakes up every day and leaves their family to try and keep the madness of the angry, cruel, hurtful and malicious from reaching us all. Thank you.

These HeroCakePops are dedicated to all the families sitting at home hoping the phone never rings...

Happy Birthday Uncle Ricky. I miss you. I love you.

To start your hero pops you need to find the right mix of color.
I used edible disco dust.

The heart chocolate molds I bought where I buy
almost all my baking supplies at : Candy Mold Central
I made the uniform following Bakerella's instructions for the
Groom on page 79 of Cake Pops. I just changed the black to blue
and added a long tie instead of a bow tie.
